Benoit Paillé

Illuminated Landscapes by Benoit Paillé light landscapes

Montreal-based photographer Benoit Paillé has been working on a fascinating series of landscapes using a bizarre lighting method involving a suspended glowing square. The images above are not photoshopped, the 1×1 meter light is instead hung in the center of each photograph and the resulting image shows the unique form of illumination that creeps into the surrounding area. Paillé says his goal is to redefine what a landscape photograph is by questioning its reality, creating a kind of poetic moment in space and time.

Robert Schlaug

Robert Schlaug  took his series of landscape photographs and stretched out the colors, creating linear striped gradients from its natural palette. Each starting point of the gradients is carefully chosen based on the composition of the picture and the effect he wants to achieve. By cleverly making the gradient a part of the photo, sometimes it appears like waterfalls at the edge of a country road, other times it becomes a wall like digital sunset.
